The Mental Health and Addiction systems are rapidly transforming as best practices are being implemented at all levels of service delivery. Service transformation effforts are enhanced when informed and involved people with lived experience are guiding the prcesses.
It is important for people who have experience in these systems to be at the tables guiding the transformation efforts. If you want to get involved in systems change efforts please contact us! We offer guidance and mentorship to those interested in becoming systems change advocates.
All the State and County meetings are open to the public. We encourage people who are curious about involvement to attend a meeting and listen to the group interact and problem solve.
Below is a sampling of the many areas where individuals can become involved in systems change efforts.
Local County Human Service Boards
Marquette County Community Networking Group
Coalition of Consumer Survivors
"I never expected to become active in systems change. I started going to meetings, trainings, conferences - anything I could find, in order to learn how to live a mentally healthy life and be the best person and parent I could be.
In these venues I began to speak up, ask questions and identify barriers within the system. I learned how to use my experiences and work with systems to problem solve solutions to those barriers. It is empowering to bring the wisdom I've gained to the table and work toward improving systems for the greater good."
