THANK YOU Jamie Kane and Don and Kate Mead of
Muskeg Valley Ranch!

Jamie and her family have donated a yearling Bashkir Curly colt for our program.  Bashkirs are a unique breed of horse that have, as their name implies curly
coats.  The curly coat can be hypoallergenic.  The hairs are round instead of flat.  They are barbed or feathered underneath a microscope; and they can be
spun and woven.  Testing proved the hair to be closely related to mohair, instead of horsehair.  You can learn more about the Bashkir Curly breed on the
Registry website at
www.abcregistry.org.  You can check out pictures of Spirit on our Meet Our Therapy Horses page.

Mike has taken such an interest in our Llama, Llewis, that he donated another Llama to us.  He is a 5 year old male who was used as a 4-H llama and then at
a petting zoo.  The kids here have named him Cllark!  Llewis was part of the horse herd, but always off by himself a bit.  Now he and Cllark are their own little
herd and are inseparable!  They love to go on walks and explore their surroundings.  You can see pictures of Llewis and Cllark on our

Paula Verrett, Kelly and Louis Kumbier and Boy Scout Troop 43 from Neenah, WI!  And THANK YOU to Ben and Amy Selenske, and Cindy Selenske, and all
the volunteers who helped so much!
Pack 43 is an incredible boy scout pack who came to Westfield to help us with some big projects!  We put up 1,200 feet
of fencing, cleared a bunch of land, deconstructed our lean-to and put it back up - all in ONE weekend!  These folks worked hard!  It was the most amazing
experience!

Ben Selenske rented a fencing auger to help speed up the fencing project and he worked so hard to help rebuild the lean-to!  Amy and Cindy Selenske were
hard at work to be sure everyone who volunteered was fed well.  They made the meals and even treated everyone to brownies in the afternoon!

There were several girls from the Westfield Pioneer High School and Middle School that also came out for the weekend to help.  Some of them worked so
hard they showed up the boy scouts!  Thanks Bobbie, Tory, Becky and Amy!
