Jamie's Woods Project:

There is a patch of woods between our house and the horses
that I have been wanting to blaze trails in for quite some time.
The neighbors on both sides of our property have trails that
they allow us to use and developing a trail system in this patch
of woods would connect both, creating a very cool trail system
that riders can enjoy without ever seeing the road.  When I first
proposed this trail system, my son, Jamie became very upset
because this patch of woods was one of his favorite
playgrounds.  He stated that he did not want these trails to
"compromise the integrity of his woods."  So we went through
the proposed trail system and got his stamp of approval on it.
We were set to start blazing last August of 09, but plans were
put on hold due to a tragic accident that took Jamie's life the
week before we were to start.  We have always called this
patch of woods "Jamie's Woods" but now we are
commemorating the woods to honor Jamieson for the time and
effort he gave to Stable Life, the horses, volunteers and
clients.

The woods project has come a long way and we are nearly
finished blazing the trails in Jamie's Woods.  Next step is
cleaning up throughout and adding some meditation stops
along the way.
Jamie loved serving the people who came to Stable Life for
help.  He loved being a leader in the Jr. ABLE Team and
sharing his love and passion for horses and helping others.  He
knew there was a lot he could do to help others, even though
he was just a kid and even though he had many struggles of
his own.  He always encouraged other kids to get involved and
make a difference!
Some of our EAA Participants also
like to volunteer!  If you're
interested in both, you can
