Meet Our Other Animals
Llewis is our first llama. He was given to us by Randy Krueger
of Spectrum Ranch in January of 2006. He is an amazing
animal! We've all really enjoyed learning about his species and
making friends with him. At first the horses didn't know what to
make of him, but now he is part of the herd and you can tell he
really likes it here.
He loves to go for walks around our property - in fact, he gets
so excited, we call him "Twinkle Toes" because of the way he
comfortable with new people, but if you take that time, he is the
coolest friend to have! If you want to stop out and see Llewis
be sure to bring carrots and lettuce - his two favorite treats!
The picture on the far left shows Llewis meeting one of our
wonderful volunteers, Mike Chesky. It is always hard to take
pictures of Llewis because he likes to be right in the camera!

Apollo
Apollo came to us in the fall of 2008.
For all of his life he has been a guard
llama for a sheep farmer. The farmer
sold the sheep and needed a new
home for Apollo. We don't know if he's
ever been in with llamas before, but
after a few weeks of meeting Llewis
and Cllark through the fence, he is
now integrated with the other boys.
He really likes his buddy's! They play
Apollo is not as friendly as Llewis and
Cllark, and some say that he's more
aloof than the other two. But both the
adventure boys were fairly distant
upon arrival here as well. Apollo is
becoming very used to the people
encounters and is getting better with
allowing us to come right up to him in
the pasture.
Grizz
Sven
Our Llamas...
Chrissy Bergwin, who donated the Pickle pony to us two years
ago has now donated two donkeys. We picked them up on
the 21st of March 2009. They are the cutest things ever! It
was pretty much love at first site!!
We are learning a lot about donkeys, mostly that they do not
learn the same way horses do and training is proving to be
quite a challenge! But they are so quiet and so very sweet.
When you look in their kind, soft eyes your heart just melts.
And when they bray, the whole neighborhood knows it!
Grizz is 11 years old and is ready to start under saddle. He is
slightly smaller than Sven, but he regularly jumps the fences
at Stable Life! I imagine him as a little jumper donkey
someday.
Sven is coming 3 this
spring and will be
ready to start under
saddle next year. He
can be a bit of a
naughty boy as he is
still young & learning
the ropes!
These two are always
together in the
pasture and often
move in sync. True to
old cartoons with the
carrot on the stick, these
boys are very food
motivated and you will be their
very best friend if you've got a
treat in your pocket for them!
